Digital Lab, Art Gallery Inaugurated at PMC School

  • Students to benefit from tech-driven learning and creative exposure

Pune : In a significant step towards modernising civic education, an art gallery and digital laboratory were inaugurated at Saraswati Primary School (PMC School No. 206B) in Vidyanagar, Ward No. 2, on the eve of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule’s birth anniversary.

The initiative, led by corporator Suhas Tingre and corporator Nandini Dhende, aims to provide students from underprivileged backgrounds with access to technology-based education and a platform to nurture creativity. The event was attended by former deputy mayor Dr. Siddharth Dhende, social worker Shama Jadhav, and other dignitaries.

The digital lab, equipped with seven computers supported by the Timeken Barke Foundation, is expected to enhance digital literacy among students. Additional infrastructure and furniture were arranged through the Vidyanagar Action Committee, ensuring a conducive learning environment.

The art gallery has been designed to encourage students to express their creativity and develop interest in academics through visual engagement. Teachers, under the guidance of headmistress Vaishali Ghodke, actively contributed to setting up the space.

Speaking at the event, Tingre emphasised the focus on improving educational facilities for economically weaker students, while Dhende highlighted the importance of aligning education with global technological advancements.
