SC and Transgender Citizens Urged to Register as Voters Under SIR
Pune : Eligible citizens from the Scheduled Caste and transgender communities have been urged to register their names in the electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
Assistant Commissioner of the Social Welfare Department Vishal Londhe said every eligible citizen has a constitutional right to vote and should actively participate in the democratic process by ensuring that their name is included in the electoral roll.
Citizens whose names are missing from the voter list have been advised to contact the Booth Level Officer (BLO) or the concerned Electoral Registration Officer with the required documents and complete the registration process at the earliest.
Voters have also been urged to verify details such as their name, address, age, gender and other information in the electoral roll and seek corrections wherever necessary.
Migrants should complete voter registration or update their address according to their current place of residence. Form 6 can be used for new voter registration, Form 7 for deletion of a name or filing an objection, and Form 8 for correction of name, address and other details.
Online applications can be submitted through the Election Commission of India’s voter services portal, while offline applications can be submitted to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer or BLO.
All eligible voters have been urged to complete the necessary voter registration and correction process before September 30, 2026.
Londhe also appealed to members of the Scheduled Caste and transgender communities to encourage eligible family members, neighbours and others in their communities to verify their voter registration and complete the required process within the stipulated deadline.
