PCMC removes 83,000 sq ft of illegal structures, encroachments

Pimpri : The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) carried out a major drive against unauthorised constructions and encroachments across all 10 ward offices, removing structures and encroachments spread over approximately 83,099 sq ft.

The action, carried out on the orders of Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi, targeted RCC structures, unauthorised sheds, ongoing constructions, roadside stalls, handcarts and other encroachments.

The F ward recorded the highest action, with 19,400 sq ft cleared, followed by G ward (13,035 sq ft) and C ward (12,723 sq ft). Teams comprising civic officials, engineers, beat inspectors, 218 MSF personnel, police personnel and municipal workers participated in the drive.

The civic administration said similar action will continue regularly to keep public spaces, roads and footpaths free from encroachments and to curb unauthorised construction.
