Ensure Uninterrupted Power Supply During Ganeshotsav : Nana Kate
Pimpri : Residents of Pimple Saudagar, Rahatani and Kalewadi have repeatedly complained of frequent power outages in the area. With Ganeshotsav approaching, former Leader of Opposition and corporator Vitthal alias Nana Kate has urged Mahavitaran to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted power supply throughout the festival.
Kate raised the issue with Mahavitaran Assistant Engineer Sunil Kadam and called for a preventive inspection and maintenance of power lines, transformers, feeders and other electrical infrastructure before the festival.
He also urged Mahavitaran to keep adequate manpower and repair teams ready to respond quickly to any technical fault and restore the power supply without delay. Ganesh mandals in the area organise various religious, cultural and social programmes during the festival. Frequent power disruptions could cause inconvenience to organisers as well as residents, he said.
Kate also demanded the immediate reopening of the offline electricity bill payment centre at Kunal Icon in Pimple Saudagar, which has reportedly been closed for some reason. He said the centre is important for residents who prefer to pay their electricity bills offline and that its closure is causing inconvenience. Youth leader Umesh Kate, entrepreneur Kaluram Kavitke, Bajrang Bhalekar, Shubham Kate and Vishal Kate were present during the meeting.
“Ganeshotsav is a festival of faith and devotion for everyone. Mahavitaran should make proper arrangements to ensure that the festival is celebrated safely and without inconvenience. Special care should be taken to prevent frequent power outages during the festival. The closed offline electricity bill payment centre at Kunal Icon should also be reopened immediately for the convenience of residents,” Kate said.
