Thar Driver Flees Police After Hitting Two-Wheeler in Pimple Saudagar

Pimpri : A Thar driver allegedly created a tense situation at the busy Shivar Chowk in Pimple Saudagar after ignoring a police signal to stop and fleeing the spot after hitting a two-wheeler while attempting to escape.

According to police, the incident took place around 7.15 pm on Thursday (September 11). A black Thar bearing registration number MH 14 MQ 77 was allegedly being driven at high speed along the BRT route. Police noticed that the vehicle had illegally tinted black film on its windows.

When personnel deployed at Shivar Chowk signalled the driver to stop, he allegedly accelerated instead of complying. While reversing the vehicle during the escape attempt, the driver reportedly hit a two-wheeler.

Despite the collision, the driver allegedly continued driving and managed to flee the spot even as police personnel attempted to stop him. The incident briefly created tension in the area.

Police immediately launched an investigation and traced the vehicle. During the probe, the driver was identified as Suyash alias Krishna Kate.

A case has been registered against him under various sections, including obstructing a public servant in the discharge of duty, fleeing after causing an accident and allegedly using a fake registration number plate.

Police said further investigation is underway and legal action will be taken against the accused based on the findings of the investigation.
