MNS to Move High Court Over Rs. 60.18 Crore PCMC Scam
– Party Demands Action Against Officials and Corporators, Legal Battle Underway
Pimpri : Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has decided to approach the High Court over the alleged Rs. 60.18 crore scam in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), demanding action against the corporators and officials allegedly involved in the matter.
MNS office-bearers recently met senior lawyer Asim Sarode to discuss the legal course of action. The party is preparing to file a case in the High Court seeking an inquiry and strict action against those responsible.
MNS city secretary Rupesh Patekar alleged that the corporators who introduced amendments (submissions) in the proposal are equally responsible for the alleged irregularities. He claimed that no inquiry or action has been initiated against these corporators so far.
“Those who introduced the amendments are the first ones responsible in this matter. Accountability must be fixed,” Patekar said.
The meeting with advocate Asim Sarode was attended by MNS city secretary Rupesh Patekar, vice-president Raju Sawale and vice-president Chandrakant Danawale.
MNS leaders said the party will fight legally to expose alleged irregularities in PCMC’s functioning and seek accountability for taxpayers’ money.
