MSME Body Flags Industrial Issues at PCMC Meet, Seeks Urgent Action
Pimpri : The Pimpri Chinchwad Small Industries Association held a joint meeting with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation on Tuesday to discuss multiple issues faced by industries in the region.
The meeting was attended by PCMC commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, along with senior civic officials and association members led by president Sandeep Belasare.
The association submitted a memorandum highlighting key concerns of small-scale industries, including poor infrastructure, water shortage, waste management, and pending policy decisions.
Belasare said, One of the major demands was the development of a modern industrial park at Kudalwadi–Chikhli for rehabilitation of small industries. The civic chief assured that a separate meeting with state industries department and other authorities would be held on the issue.
Entrepreneurs also raised concerns over LBT notices issued despite pending clarifications. Officials said the LBT department has been shut from April 1, 2025, and further clarity will be provided after discussions with the state government, Belasare told.
On the long-pending T-201 rehabilitation project, civic officials said delays and penalties imposed by MIDC are being reviewed and discussions will be held to resolve the matter.
Industrialists flagged deteriorated internal roads in MIDC areas like Bhosari, Chikhli and Talawade. The civic body said Rs. 22 crore has been allocated for road repairs, with priority to industrial zones, Belasare said.
Water shortage in industrial areas was another major concern. PCMC said efforts will be made to improve supply pressure, though the city is currently on alternate-day water supply.
Issues related to solid waste collection, hazardous waste disposal, non-functional streetlights, illegal scrap shops and thefts were also discussed. The civic body assured improved services, stricter action and better coordination among departments.
The association also demanded better PMPML bus connectivity, public toilets in industrial areas, and safety measures for workers, Belasare told.
Officials said necessary steps will be taken on priority and follow-up meetings will be held to review progress.
