Potholes on Nigdi-Pimpri Metro Route, BJP Worker Warns of Road Blockade
– Demand for repairs before Ganeshotsav; agitation threatened on September 11
PIMPRI : BJP worker Sachin Kalbhor has warned of a road blockade on September 11 if potholes along the Nigdi-Pimpri Metro route are not repaired before Ganeshotsav.
Kalbhor claimed that more than 1,000 potholes have developed between Bhakti-Shakti flyover and Morwadi Chowk on the Mumbai-Pune Highway. Waterlogging has made the potholes difficult to spot, increasing the risk of accidents, particularly at night.
He also raised concerns over traffic congestion during evening hours and demanded traffic police and wardens, directional signboards and restrictions on heavy vehicles where necessary.
Kalbhor said he has been pursuing the issue with PCMC Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi and Metro project officials, but alleged that no satisfactory action has been taken so far.
“The potholes must be repaired before Ganeshotsav. Otherwise, a road blockade will be held under the Madhukar Pawale flyover in Nigdi on September 11,” Kalbhor warned.
