- Bawankule assures relief for 755 beneficiaries
Mumbai/Pimpri : A decision on providing stamp duty concessions to 755 beneficiaries of the Kiwale housing project will be taken soon, Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule assured on Wednesday.
The beneficiaries are being provided houses under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) housing project at Kiwale after the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Ravet housing project was cancelled. The beneficiaries have been seeking exemption from stamp duty as well as financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
The issue was discussed at a meeting held at the office of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai. Bansode discussed the matter with Minister Bawankule and submitted a letter recommending relief for the beneficiaries.
Following the meeting, labour leader Kashinath Nakhate, along with representatives and beneficiaries of the Kiwale housing project, met Bawankule and submitted a memorandum seeking concessions.
Nakhate apprised the minister of the difficulties faced by the 755 beneficiaries, who have reportedly been dealing with various issues related to the housing project for several years. He demanded that the beneficiaries be exempted from stamp duty and be provided financial assistance under PMAY.
Minister Bawankule heard the concerns raised by the beneficiaries and discussed their demands. He assured them that the government would consider their interests and take a positive decision on the proposed fee concessions soon.
The issue has been pending for several years, with beneficiaries seeking financial relief to reduce the burden associated with obtaining their houses under the housing scheme. The meeting was attended by labour leader Kashinath Nakhate, Vice-President Rajesh Mane, Chetan Gaikwad, Sakharam Kedar, Anil Chaure, Angad Mungale, Vishnu Mane, Sanjay Shinde, Sandeep Kamble, Geeta Nagpure, Shubhangi Chavan, Ashwini Jaygude, Dhanashree Kore, Pooja Nikam, Asha Jadhav and Preeti Gohad, among others.

The 755 beneficiaries have sought exemption from stamp duty, PMAY subsidy and financial assistance, along with resolution of pending issues related to the housing project and relief from the financial burden associated with their homes.
