PCMC Reshuffles Engineering Departments; Key Portfolios Reassigned
PIMPRI : The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has carried out a major reshuffle of engineering and administrative responsibilities following the appointment of Manoj Sethia as the new City Engineer.
Sethia has been given charge of several key departments, including water supply, building permission, urban transportation, drainage, and slum rehabilitation. However, the important Civil Engineering Department has been assigned to Chief Engineer Pramod Ombhase.
Ombhase will also oversee Civil Projects, Gardens and Sports, and Environmental Engineering departments.
Along with these departments, Sethia has been given responsibility for several special projects, including the Biodiversity Park at Talawade, Nisargkavi Bahinabai Chaudhari Zoo at Sambhajinagar, the badminton court at Wakad, Mata Ramai Srushti at Pimpri Chowk and Madanlal Dhingra Ground in the Pradhikaran area.
Ombhase will also oversee major water infrastructure projects, including the Bhama-Askhed Water Supply Scheme, Andra Water Supply Scheme, Pavana closed pipeline project and the water treatment plant in Sector 23, Nigdi.
Changes in drainage and building permission departments
The drainage department has been removed from the charge of Associate City Engineer Prerana Sinkar. She has now been assigned responsibility for the Building Permission and Unauthorised Construction departments.
The Building Permission department was earlier handled by Associate City Engineer Sunil Bhagwani.
Associate City Engineer Vinay Ohol will continue to oversee the Drainage Department and has also been given responsibility for Environmental Engineering.
Executive Engineer Sandhya Wagh has been promoted as Associate City Engineer and assigned charge of the Civil Projects Department.
The PCMC has also made changes to the portfolios of several Executive Engineers and Regional Officers as part of the reshuffle.
‘H’ Regional Office charge changed
The civic administration has removed Pooja Dudhanale from the post of ‘H’ Regional Officer and appointed her as Administrative Officer of the Land and Property Department.
Dudhanale has also been given additional charge as Administrative Officer of the Medical Department.
Several corporators had levelled allegations against Dudhanale during General Body meetings. Following the latest administrative reshuffle, her responsibility for the ‘H’ Regional Office has been withdrawn.
Santosh Korad has been given additional charge as the ‘H’ Regional Officer.
