Three Booked for Alleged Theft of Sandalwood from Restricted Army Area

Pimpri : A case has been registered against three persons for allegedly illegally entering a restricted Indian Army area in Dehu Camp after cutting through a wire fence and stealing the core of a sandalwood tree.

The incident reportedly took place around 1.15 am on September 9. According to police, the accused — Ravindra Buwaji Madhe, Avinash Madhe and Govind Kadale — allegedly cut the wire fencing and entered the restricted premises.

They are accused of cutting and stealing the core of a sandalwood tree worth around Rs. 10,000 without permission, allegedly for financial gain.

A complaint was filed by Moneshwar Poheshwar Sonuwal at the Dehu Road police station. Police have registered a case against the three accused and further investigation is underway.
