Veterinary Complaints to Be Resolved at Ward Offices

  • Eight officers to coordinate complaint redressal at ward offices

Pimpri : The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken an important decision to ensure quicker and more effective resolution of complaints related to the Veterinary Department in the city.

Following a discussion in the General Body meeting regarding the menace of stray dogs in the city, and as per the directions of Mayor Ravi Landge, a new ward-level mechanism has been introduced. This system will allow citizens and corporators to directly present their complaints and ensure that issues are addressed promptly.

Earlier, most complaints were handled at the central level, which often caused delays in action. To streamline the process and ensure immediate response at the local level, separate coordination officers have now been appointed for each of the eight wards.

The decision has been taken by the municipal Veterinary Department to bring better coordination and efficiency in administrative work. Under this new system, services such as treatment of stray dogs, sterilization (animal birth control), and temporary observation of aggressive dogs will be provided more effectively.

The administration believes that this initiative will bring significant relief to citizens and will improve the speed, transparency, and efficiency of the complaint redressal process. All these activities will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Animal Welfare Board of India.
