Builder and MHADA Residents File Police Complaint Against Society Committee Over Road Access Dispute in Balewadi

AAP’s follow-up leads to joint complaint against society committee; Registrar’s order upholds MHADA residents’ right to use common roads and facilities

PUNE : The dispute over access to internal roads at the ‘43 Private Drive’ residential project in Balewadi, where several residents received homes through the MHADA lottery, has taken a new turn. Following persistent efforts by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), builder M/s S.S. Properties, represented by Sachin Bhandari, along with MHADA flat owners, has filed a complaint against the society committee at Balewadi Police Station.

The MHADA allottees have alleged that society office-bearers and security guards are preventing them from using the project’s main entrance and internal roads, creating obstacles to their movement within the residential complex.

AAP Youth Wing State President Raviraj Baban Kale had lodged a complaint with the Construction Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation on October 13, 2026, demanding action against the concerned builder and architect over the alleged denial of access to MHADA residents.

Meanwhile, in an order dated October 19, 2026, the Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies clarified that MHADA flat owners have full rights to use common roads and shared facilities within the housing project.

Following the order, the builder and MHADA residents jointly approached the police and filed a complaint against the society committee.

Kale said AAP would continue its fight until MHADA residents were given unrestricted access to their rightful internal roads and legal action was initiated against those allegedly obstructing them. He asserted that the rights of economically weaker MHADA beneficiaries would not be compromised.
