Industry Minister Directs Joint Meeting to Resolve Pimpri-Chinchwad Industrial Issues

Mumbai : Industries Minister Uday Samant has directed officials to form a joint committee and hold a meeting soon to address long-pending issues faced by industries in the Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial belt.

Samant met office-bearers of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Small Industries Association at Mantralaya on Tuesday. PCMC Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi and MIDC Chief Executive Officer Kunal Khemnar were also present.

The association highlighted several issues, including LBT notices issued to industries, delay in the T-201 rehabilitation project, pending CETP and hazardous waste disposal facilities, poor internal roads and drainage, frequent power disruptions, the need for new MSEDCL substations, unauthorised slums and scrap shops, drain encroachments, security concerns and unauthorised labour groups.

The association also sought speedy implementation of infrastructure projects, modernisation of the ageing power network, regular police patrolling and action against unauthorised establishments in industrial areas.

Other demands included early development of a facility centre in Sectors 7 and 10 and reduction of PMRDA transfer charges.

Association president Sandeep Belsare and secretary Jayant Kad, along with directors Sanjay Satav, Navnath Vayal and Bharat Narwade, represented the industrial body.

Samant directed the concerned authorities to work through a joint mechanism and convene a meeting in Pimpri-Chinchwad at the earliest to resolve the issues.
