PCMC Sets Sept 30 Deadline, Warns of Property Seizure
- Action against major defaulters after deadline; taxpayers have eight days to claim 4% online rebate
PIMPRI : Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi has directed officials to initiate property seizure proceedings against major tax defaulters after September 30, with priority given to industrial, non-residential and mixed-use properties.
The directions were issued during a review meeting on property tax collection attended by Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Pawar and other officials from the Taxation and Tax Collection Department.
Officials reviewed property tax recovery, property transfers, assessment of newly added properties, major defaulters and inflated demand cases. Suryawanshi directed officials to expedite pending cases and intensify recovery efforts to meet the civic body’s revenue targets.
He instructed officials to undertake legal action against major defaulters and prepare ward-wise recovery plans. The civic administration has also been directed to monitor unauthorised constructions, collect details of new constructions and assess eligible properties for property tax without delay.
Eight Days Left for 4% Rebate
PCMC has offered a 4% rebate on general property tax to property owners who pay their tax online. The deadline to avail the rebate is September 30, 2026, leaving eight days. The civic body has so far collected ₹592.74 crore in property tax. Officials have appealed to taxpayers to clear their dues online before the deadline and avail themselves of the rebate.
