Pune RTO to Accept Advance Applications for Fancy MH61 Vehicle Numbers
Separate application and auction schedules announced for two-wheelers and four-wheelers ahead of Diwali
PUNE : With vehicle purchases expected to rise during the Diwali festive season, the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) will introduce a new registration series, MH61 K, beginning with the number MH61 K 0001. The office will accept advance applications from vehicle owners seeking preferred and fancy registration numbers under the new series by paying the prescribed three times fee.
For four-wheelers, applications will be accepted on November 4, between 10.30 am and 2.30 pm. If multiple applicants seek the same registration number, an auction will be held on November 5 at 4 pm.
For two-wheelers, applications will be accepted on November 5 during the same time slot, while the auction will take place on November 6 at 4 pm at the Sahakar Sabhagriha. The deadline for submitting demand drafts (DDs) for both auctions is 3.15 pm.
Applicants must submit proof of address, identity proof, an attested copy of their PAN card and a demand draft towards the prescribed fee. The DD must be drawn in favour of ‘R.T.O., Pune’ from a nationalised or scheduled bank located in Pune.
The RTO has clarified that only applicants with address proof falling within the jurisdiction of the Pune RTO will be eligible to apply. Applicants must also provide an accurate mobile number. Incomplete applications and those accompanied by demand drafts for incorrect amounts will be rejected.
Applicants who fail to secure their preferred numbers in the auction must collect their original demand drafts from the RTO office within five days.
Fancy registration numbers remaining unsold after the auction will be made available online through the official portal, https://fancy.parivahan.gov.in. Applicants can book these numbers online without visiting the RTO office, the department said.
