Pimpri-Chinchwad Congress to Hold ‘Lokshahi Bachav Week’

• Awareness programmes on voter rights and constitutional values from October 2 to 8

Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Pimpri-Chinchwad City District Congress Committee will organise a ‘Lokshahi Bachav Week’ from October 2 to 8 on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.

The week will feature district and block-level meetings, a press conference, a ‘Vote Bachav–Desh Bachav’ march, padayatras and public interaction programmes aimed at raising awareness about democracy, constitutional values and voters’ rights.

According to the city Congress, the campaign will also focus on issues related to transparency in the electoral process, changes in electoral rolls and concerns raised by the party regarding the functioning of the Election Commission.

City Congress president Narendra Bansode said the initiative seeks to promote awareness among voters about their rights and strengthen democratic values.

The programmes will involve Congress office-bearers and workers, representatives of like-minded parties, social activists and citizens.
