ISKCON Starts Satvik Meals for Patients at Thergaon Hospital

PIMPRI : A satvik meal (prasad) initiative for patients undergoing treatment and their attendants at Thergaon Hospital has been launched by ISKCON, with Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne inaugurating the programme.
Speaking at the launch, Barne said nutritious and timely food is an important part of a patient’s recovery, particularly during periods of illness and distress.
The initiative is being supported through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding and aims to provide patients with fresh, light and home-style satvik meals while maintaining hygiene and food-safety practices.
The programme is also expected to benefit families accompanying patients who travel from distant areas for treatment and may face financial difficulties in arranging meals outside the hospital.
Barne said the initiative would provide support not only through food but also by creating a sense of comfort and emotional reassurance for patients and their families.
He said the municipal corporation is committed to protecting the health and social well-being of citizens, while participation by religious and social organisations through CSR initiatives can further expand the reach of welfare programmes.
Barne congratulated ISKCON, CSR partners and volunteers involved in the initiative and assured continued support for such public welfare activities.
