Pune : Pune Police have prohibited the daytime transportation of goods by shopkeepers in the city’s central areas ahead of Diwali, considering the heavy crowds expected for festive shopping.

Under the order, shopkeepers will be allowed to load and unload goods only between 11 pm and 9 am until November 12. The restriction aims to manage congestion and ensure the smooth movement of shoppers in busy commercial areas during the festive season.

The order applies to shops located on Laxmi Road, Tulshibaug, Mandai, Bohri Ali, Ganesh Peth, Raviwar Peth, Shukrawar Peth, Tapkir Galli, Kumthekar Road, Kelkar Road and Bajirao Road, as well as other areas in central Pune.
