Develop ‘Constitution Complex’ and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Study Centre at Sangvi : Narendra Bansode

Pimpri-Chinchwad : The Congress has demanded the development of a ‘Constitution Complex’ and a Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Study Centre on the land occupied by dilapidated PWD quarters in Sangvi.

The demand was raised by Congress Pimpri-Chinchwad city president Narendra Bansode on the ninth day of the ongoing protest against the removal of the Constitution Preamble structure at Constitution Chowk, Sangvi.

Bansode proposed installing a full-size statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and developing a library, study centre and hostel for students preparing for competitive examinations. The proposed complex would also educate visitors about the Constitution, its values, the Preamble and human rights.

He urged the municipal corporation to acquire around one acre of the PWD quarters land for the project. He also said the party would pursue the matter with the municipal corporation, police commissionerate, district collector’s office and other concerned authorities.

Bansode reiterated that the removed Preamble structure should be restored at its original location and that legal action should be pursued against those allegedly responsible for its demolition.
