FDA Seizes 134 Kg Food Stock From Pradeep Sweets in Chinchwad

– 18 kg farsan and 116 kg salted potato wafers seized during festive-season inspection

Pimpri-Chinchwad : The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seized 134 kg of food stock from Pradeep Sweets in Chinchwad during a festive-season inspection drive. The seized stock comprised 18 kg of farsan and 116 kg of salted potato wafers.

According to FDA officials, the inspection found discrepancies related to food quality and labelling, while some products were suspected to be unsafe. Samples of the seized products have been sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Assistant Commissioner, FDA, Sanjay Chatte said a notice had been issued to the establishment and further legal action would be decided after the laboratory reports are received.

A recent report also confirms that FDA action in Pune included the seizure of food stock from Pradeep Sweets Pvt Ltd, Chinchwad, during the ongoing festive-season inspections.
