PCMC Nurses to Get Justice, Assures Mayor
Yashwant Bhosale raises issue of 142 honorarium nurses seeking permanent service
Pimpri : Labour leader Yashwant Bhosale has informed that PCMC Mayor Ravi Landge and Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barane have assured justice for 142 honorarium-based nurses and technical staff working in PCMC’s YCM Hospital and other medical departments.
These nurses have been serving the civic body for the last 15–18 years on a monthly honorarium of around ₹10,000–₹15,000. A proposal to replace them with new recruitment was challenged by the Rashtriya Shramik Aghadi in the Bombay High Court, which stayed the recruitment process.
Bhosale said these nurses provided crucial services during the COVID-19 pandemic despite risks to their lives. He demanded that the earlier decision to make them permanent employees should be restored.
He added that the Mayor and Standing Committee Chairman have given a positive response and assured that a joint meeting with officials will be held soon to take an appropriate decision in favour of the nurses.
