Big Relief for Pimple Saudagar Residents as New Post Office Gets Approval
- PCMC Standing Committee approves proposal for new Post Office building
Pimpri: Residents of Pimple Saudagar have received a major relief as the proposal for a new Post Office in the area has been approved by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee.
Corporator Anita Sandeep Kate informed that due to rapid population growth, citizens of Pimple Saudagar currently have to visit Aundh or Pimple Gurav for postal services, causing inconvenience. The demand for a separate Post Office in the area was pending for several years.
Under the approved proposal, a 1,210.50 sq. ft. space in the civic body-owned Maruti Mandir Cultural Bhavan will be given to the Post Office on lease for five years.
The new facility will provide postal, banking and government services locally, benefiting senior citizens, women, students and business owners.
“The new Post Office will soon become operational and will reduce the difficulties faced by citizens. Considering the growing urbanisation, this facility will play an important role in the development of the area.”
- Anita Sandeep Kate, Corporator, PCMC
