Adv. Vaibhav Thorat Conferred ‘Shikshan Maharshi’ Award
Pimpri : Adv. Vaibhav Maruti Thorat, Secretary of Shiv Sena and Member of New Education Policy (Government of Maharashtra) has been conferred with the ‘Shikshan Maharshi’ Award by Rama Mangal Social Foundation and News Express in recognition of his contribution to education, social work and leadership.
Originally from Shiroli Khurd in Junnar taluka, Thorat holds an M.A. in History, LL.B., and a postgraduate diploma in Finance Management. He has also pursued studies in agricultural journalism and agribusiness management and is currently undertaking Ph.D. research. Professionally, he is associated with the construction and food industries.
In public life, Thorat serves as State Head of the Legal Department of Shiv Sena. He has also contributed as a member of the Maharashtra Government’s committee on the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and served as a Governor-nominated Senate member of University of Mumbai between 2018 and 2022.
He has previously received several honours, including ‘Sakal Samman 2026’, ‘The Youth Icon’, and ‘Achiever of the Year 2023’. His work during the COVID-19 period was also recognised by the World Book of Records.
Thorat’s social initiatives include financial support to over 100 schools in Junnar taluka, covering educational expenses for hundreds of students, and large-scale food distribution during the pandemic.
