Mahesh Landge Seeks Septic Operation Theatre at YCM Hospital

MLA urges PCMC to provide funds, equipment and trained staff to ensure timely treatment for patients with infected wounds

PIMPRI-CHINCHWAD : BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has urged the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to establish a dedicated septic operation theatre at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri to facilitate surgeries for patients with infected wounds.

Landge submitted a memorandum to Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi, highlighting the need for the facility amid increasing pressure on civic healthcare services due to the city’s growing population.

According to Landge, the absence of a dedicated septic operation theatre at YCM Hospital forces some patients with infected wounds to seek treatment at other hospitals or face delays in surgical procedures. This creates additional financial burdens and mental stress for patients and their families.

A separate facility would enable the hospital to perform surgeries for patients with infected, pus-filled and serious wounds while strengthening infection control and patient safety measures.

Seeks funds and time-bound implementation

Landge has requested the civic administration to arrange the required space, medical equipment, trained personnel and financial resources. He has also called for administrative and financial approval and a fixed timeline for starting the facility. Until the operation theatre becomes functional, he has urged the administration to ensure safe alternative treatment arrangements for patients. “No patient should be deprived of treatment due to financial difficulties. YCM Hospital must provide timely and safe treatment through a dedicated septic operation theatre,” Landge said, urging the administration to take immediate action.
