₹60 Crore PCMC Scam Probe Report Submitted to State Government, Says Commissioner

Pimpri : The alleged ₹60 crore corruption case in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has now reached the state government level. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi informed the General Body meeting that a detailed report regarding the matter has been submitted to the Maharashtra government. Political and administrative circles are now closely watching the government’s next move and possible action in the case.

The alleged irregularities related to financial transactions and administrative functioning within the civic body have been under intense discussion over the past several days. Opposition leaders have consistently demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. Against this backdrop, the administration has forwarded all relevant documents and reports to the state government.

Speaking during the General Body meeting, Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi stated, “The report related to the case has been sent to the state government. Further decisions will be taken at the government level.” With this, the authority to decide on further inquiry, action, or administrative measures now rests with the state government.

The issue also triggered heated debate in the civic house. Corporator Sulabha Ubale strongly demanded that the report be presented before the General Body. “Public representatives have the right to know details of such a major issue involving public money. If the report is tabled in the house, the truth will come out,” she said.

Meanwhile, Corporator Sandeep Waghere alleged that the ruling party was responsible for the matter. Responding to the accusation, ruling party leader Prashant Shitole pointed out that the opposition members were also part of the administration during the previous term and therefore should not blame only the current ruling side.

The controversy has once again brought the functioning of the municipal administration and local politics under the spotlight. Opposition leaders are demanding transparency and strict action against those responsible, while the ruling group has maintained that they will wait for the state government’s decision.

Attention is now focused on what stand the government takes in the alleged ₹60 crore corruption case, whether the scope of inquiry will be expanded, and if any officials or individuals found responsible will face action.
