Ravet-Kiwale-Mamurdi Issues Go on ‘Fast Track’

• MLA Shankar Jagtap hears 715 grievances at ‘Aamdar Aaplya Dari’; officials directed to ensure swift, time-bound action

Pimpri : MLA Shankar Jagtap of the Chinchwad Assembly constituency took civic grievances in Ravet, Kiwale and Mamurdi directly to the administration through the ‘Aamdar Aaplya Dari’ (MLA at Your Doorstep) initiative, promising time-bound action on citizens’ concerns.

The public interaction programme, held at Sameer Lawns in Ravet on Wednesday, received an enthusiastic response from residents. Jagtap personally heard the grievances of around 715 citizens and discussed the issues with officials from various departments. Instructions were issued for immediate action on matters that could be resolved on the spot.

The programme was attended by Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne, corporator Dharmapal Tantarplae, Tehsildar Jayraj Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Agale, Pradeep Thengal, Naib Tehsildar Ravindra Kulkarni, Food Distribution Officer Dr Vijaykumar Kshirsagar, ‘J’ Ward Officer Ashwini Gaikwad, executive engineers Sunil Pawar and Sunil Shinde, Sandhya Wagh, MSEDCL Assistant Engineer Ratnadeep Kale, Additional Executive Engineer Nitin Mahajan, Assistant Election Officer Vaishali Shinde, Ravet Police Station Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmukh, Traffic Police Inspector Nitin Limbhore and other officials and BJP functionaries.

Focus on traffic, encroachments and basic civic services

During the interaction, Jagtap directed officials to take action against encroachments on footpaths that obstruct pedestrians. He also called for strict action against weekly markets operating on private and municipal land if they cause traffic disruptions.

Residents raised several demands, including construction of a recreation and cultural centre for senior citizens in Vikasnagar, development of a senior citizens’ garden in Kiwale and asphalting of service roads.

Citizens also complained about stray dogs, non-functional streetlights, undeveloped roads shown in development plans, pending electricity-related issues, irregular garbage collection, delays in water supply and problems related to waste collection centres.

Residents of housing societies demanded action against heavy vehicles parked along roadsides and causing traffic problems.

Multiple departments under one roof

The initiative brought officials from several departments to a single platform, allowing citizens to register their complaints without making repeated visits to government offices.

Dedicated counters were set up for health, water supply, engineering, gardens, tax collection, town planning, building permissions, electricity and environment-related issues. Officials from the tehsil administration, ration card section, revenue department, MNGL, MSEDCL and NHAI were also available to address citizens’ grievances.

The issues raised included water supply, roads, drainage, electricity, traffic, encroachments, waste management, Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, ration cards and other government schemes.

Officials recorded the complaints and were instructed to act immediately wherever possible. Jagtap directed departments to follow a time-bound process for issues requiring technical or administrative approvals.

‘Citizens should not have to run from office to office’

Jagtap said the initiative was aimed at taking the administration directly to citizens rather than forcing them to visit government offices repeatedly.

“Citizens should not have to keep visiting government offices to get their problems resolved. That is why I have taken this initiative to reach people directly. The issues of residents of Ravet, Kiwale and Mamurdi were heard today, and concrete, time-bound action will be taken in coordination with the concerned officials. Every citizen’s grievance is a priority for me, and I will continue to follow up until the issues are resolved,” said Shankar Jagtap, MLA, Chinchwad Assembly constituency.

He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the state was progressing rapidly and that issues pending at the government level would also be pursued with the concerned authorities.
