Chetan Pawar Appointed City Chief of Shiv Sena (UBT) in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pimpri : Chetan Pawar has been appointed as the City Chief of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) in Pimpri-Chinchwad. His appointment has sparked fresh political discussions in the city, with expectations rising that the party will adopt a more assertive stance against ruling parties at the local level.

In the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, major parties like the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP often take opposing positions locally, while being aligned at the state level. This dynamic has limited aggressive opposition politics in the city. Against this backdrop, Pawar’s leadership is expected to bring a clearer and stronger opposition voice.

Pawar began his political journey with Shiv Sena and has built his identity through social work. He recently contested the municipal election from Ward No. 25 in Tathawade on a party ticket, securing over 5,000 votes and putting up a strong challenge to BJP candidates.

He has also served as the City Chief of Yuva Sena, contributing significantly to strengthening the party organisation. Party sources indicated that his consistent work led to the leadership entrusting him with this key responsibility.

“ We will implement various initiatives to strengthen the party organisation and take our ideology to the grassroots. With ruling and opposition parties aligned at the state level, their ability to oppose locally has weakened. In this situation, Shiv Sena (UBT) will emerge as the true voice of opposition in the city.”
