BJP Opts for Low-Key Celebration in Pimpri-Chinchwad Amid Tragic Incident
Pimpri : Even as celebrations erupted across the country following the BJP’s victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections, the party’s Pimpri-Chinchwad unit chose restraint, citing a recent tragic incident involving a minor in Nasrapur, Pune district.
The victory was marked quietly at the party’s Morwadi office with a simple tribute to Bharat Mata and Jan Sangh founder Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. No public celebrations were organised.
City BJP leaders said the decision was taken as a mark of respect and solidarity with the victim and her family. “While the victory is significant, the incident has deeply saddened us. It is not appropriate to celebrate in such circumstances,” leaders stated.
The programme was held under the leadership of Shatrughan Bapu Kate, in the presence of former MP Amar Sable, MLA Uma Khapre, Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar and other party office-bearers.
On the occasion Rajesh Pille, Mahila Morcha President Sujata Palande, Raju Durge, Suresh Bhoir, Mandar Deshpande, Pallavi Walhekar, Sanjay Patni, Vijay Sinkar, Netaji Shinde, Nandu Kadam, Devdatt Lande, Prakash Jawalkar, Sanjivini Pandey, Popat Hajare, Yuvraj Lande, Nilesh Ashtekar, Shital Kumbhar, Santosh Bhalerao, Gorakh Kumbhar, Ganesh Dhakne and Ajit Bhalerao were present.
