Divyang Bhavan Giving Dignified Life Support : Mayor Landge
Pimpri : The Divyang Bhavan established for persons with disabilities is not just a facility centre but a strong support system helping them live with dignity and confidence, said Mayor Ravi Landge.
He was speaking at the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Divyang Bhavan Foundation held at Divyang Bhavan in Morwadi at Pimpri. The meeting was attended by Opposition Leader Bhausaheb Bhoir, Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, Managing Director Omprakash Deshmukh and other officials.
Mayor Landge emphasized that bringing persons with disabilities into the mainstream requires not only infrastructure but also continuous efforts towards education, employment, and skill development. He directed officials to expand facilities, accelerate skill development initiatives, and increase awareness programmes for persons with disabilities.
Opposition Leader Bhausaheb Bhoir said the work being done for persons with disabilities is a great social service and requires coordination between government, administration, and society. Abhishek Barne stressed the need for special schemes for single parents of disabled individuals and better opportunities in education, healthcare, and employment.
Commissioner Dr. Suryavanshi suggested developing hydrotherapy and physiotherapy facilities and using modern technology to make services more accessible and effective. The meeting also reviewed infrastructure development, new initiatives, skill development programmes, awareness campaigns, and the ‘Purple Jallosh’ disability festival.
