Pune Bans Daytime Goods Loading, Unloading During Ganeshotsav

Light commercial vehicles permitted from 2 am to 11 am from September 14 to 24

PUNE : In view of large crowds in central Pune during Ganeshotsav, the city traffic police have revised the timings for loading and unloading goods at shops to ensure smooth and safe traffic movement.

According to the order, light goods vehicles will be permitted to load and unload goods at shops between 2 am and 11 am from September 14 to 24, 2026.

The order was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr Sandeep Bhajibhakare under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and a notification issued by the Maharashtra Government’s Home Department.

The measure has been taken to prevent traffic congestion and safety concerns caused by large crowds and moving vehicles on roads in the central parts of the city during the festival.

Major central markets covered

The revised timings will apply to shops in Bhore Ali, Ganesh Peth, Rvwar Peth, Shukrawar Peth, Mandai, Laxmi Road, Bajirao Road and other areas in central Pune.

The traffic police have appealed to traders and shopkeepers to follow the prescribed timings and cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth traffic management and peaceful conduct of Ganeshotsav.
