Citizens Beware: Traffic Diversions Announced for Swargate-Katraj Metro Work

Temporary restrictions imposed around Market Yard and Pushpmangal Chowk to ease congestion

PUNE : Traffic diversions have been introduced around Market Yard and Pushpmangal Chowk in Pune due to the ongoing underground metro project between Swargate and Katraj. The Pune traffic police have implemented temporary changes to prevent congestion and ensure smoother vehicle movement in the area.

Under the revised traffic arrangements, vehicles coming from Upper Bibwewadi via Chandralok Chowk towards Pushpmangal Chowk will not be allowed to turn right towards Swargate, Market Yard and Utsav Hotel.

Such vehicles must turn left, proceed past the Tanishq showroom and take a U-turn near the Aranyeshwar bus stop before heading towards Swargate.

Diversions for Satara, Katraj-bound traffic

Vehicles travelling from Swargate via Pune-Satara Road, as well as those heading from Market Yard towards Satara, Katraj and Bibwewadi, will be diverted through the stretch near Wellness Medical Store and Bhapkar Petrol Pump. They will proceed via Pushpmangal Chowk towards Katraj and Upper Bibwewadi.

Right turns from Pushpmangal Chowk towards Market Yard and Utsav Hotel Chowk have also been prohibited.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Market Yard and Utsav Hotel Chowk will not be allowed to turn right towards Swargate.

The traffic police have advised motorists coming from Market Yard to proceed via Vakharkhand Corporation Chowk to reach their destinations. Alternatively, they can take a U-turn at Pushpmangal Chowk near the Tanishq showroom and Aranyeshwar bus stop, or use Vakharkhand Corporation Chowk, depending on their destination.

Motorists have been urged to follow the revised traffic arrangements and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays.
