Pune Metro Ridership Rises 21% on Ganeshotsav Day 1

PUNE : Pune Metro recorded 2,62,671 passengers on September 14, the first day of Ganeshotsav, registering a 21.40% increase over the 2,16,374 passengers recorded on the corresponding day last year.

District Court Metro station recorded the highest footfall at 58,948 passengers, followed by Mahatma Phule Mandai with 51,533.

Other major stations recorded: PCMC – 25,429; Ramwadi – 23,644; Swargate – 21,099; and PMC – 19,267 passengers.

Metro services are being operated at five-minute intervals during the 10-day festival, with extended services planned to accommodate late-night passenger movement.

Passengers travelling to central Pune have been advised to use Kasba Peth, Swargate, PMC, Deccan Gymkhana and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Udyan stations as per their destinations. Mahatma Phule Mandai has been recommended for return journeys.

Pune Metro has also encouraged commuters to use QR tickets, the Metro app and WhatsApp ticketing to manage crowds at ticket counters.
