PCMC Speeds Up Plan for Decentralised Waste Processing Centres Across City
Pimpri : The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has accelerated its plan to establish decentralised waste processing centres in the jurisdiction of every regional office to strengthen the city’s solid waste management system.
PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi has directed Additional Commissioner Kuldeep Jangam to identify suitable land for the proposed facilities and prepare a plan for setting up modern waste processing centres at the earliest.
Following the Commissioner’s directions, Additional Commissioner Jangam held a meeting with regional officers and executive engineers, instructing them to survey available land within their respective jurisdictions and finalise suitable sites for the projects.
The civic administration aims to process waste closer to its source through a decentralised system, reducing the burden on the Moshi dump yard. Once land identification is completed, the corporation will implement the project in phases using advanced waste processing technology.
Commissioner Dr. Suryawanshi has instructed officials to complete the site selection process on priority and submit a detailed implementation plan without delay.
