Unauthorised Warkari Education Institute Shut Down in Alandi; 47 Children Shifted to Care Homes

Pimpri : Authorities have shut down an unauthorised residential Warkari education institute in Alandi after serious allegations involving a 12-year-old girl came to light. Following the complaint, officials conducted a surprise inspection at the institute and found several violations related to child safety and management.

During the inspection, it was revealed that the institute was operating without the required government permissions. Officials also found that proper admission records and Aadhaar details of the children were not maintained. In addition, the facility lacked basic staff such as security guards and caretakers.

Authorities further observed poor sanitation conditions at the institute. There was also no proper nutrition plan arranged for the children staying there, raising concerns about their health and safety.

The inspection was carried out by a joint team from the Women and Child Development Department, the District Child Protection Unit and the Alandi Municipal Council. The team was led by Chief Officer Madhav Khandekar and included Deputy Commissioner Varsha Pawar, Assistant Commissioner Yogesh Jadhav and District Child Protection Officer Mangesh Jadhav.

Following the inspection, officials immediately shifted 47 children staying at the institute to government-recognised care homes to ensure their safety. The children have been moved to facilities in Phulgaon and nearby areas where proper arrangements for their care, supervision and education have been made.

Authorities have appealed to citizens to stay alert and report any institutes running without permission or keeping children in unsafe conditions so that immediate action can be taken.
