Marathi Language Day Celebrated in Shahunagar

Pimpri : Marathi Language Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Shri Shahu Sarvajanik Vachanalaya at Shiv-Shahu-Sambhaji Udyan in Shahunagar. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from citizens and literature enthusiasts.

The function featured a “Mai Marathi” poetry meet, felicitation of newly elected corporators, and recognition of winners of an essay competition. Poet Sangeeta Zhinjurke presided over the kavi sammelan. Prof. Tukaram Patil, Raj Aherrao, and Vilas Jeurkar were present as chief guests. Balkishan Mutyal delivered the introductory address.

Newly elected corporators Tushar Hingé, Anuradha Gorkhe, Supriya Chandgude, and Kushagra Kadam were felicitated during the event. Poets including Mansi Chitnis, Dr. Pournima Kolhe, Seema Gandhi, and Suhas Ghumre highlighted the richness and importance of the Marathi language through their compositions. Sangram Uday Patil presented a traditional powada performance.

The event was anchored by Rajendra Ghavate and Ganesh Sahane, while Secretary Rajaram Wanjari proposed the vote of thanks.
