Pimpri-Chinchwad Pays Tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar; Mayor Urges Youth to Follow His Ideals
Pimpri : On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) paid rich tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution. Mayor Ravi Landge emphasized that the ideals of equality, liberty, and justice given by Dr. Ambedkar form the foundation of the Constitution and must be practiced by today’s generation, not just remembered.
Floral tributes were offered at various locations including the PCMC headquarters, Bhimsrushti, H.A. Colony, and Dapodi, in the presence of Mayor Landge and Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, along with other dignitaries and citizens.
As part of the celebrations, PCMC has organized a ‘Social Equality Week’ and ‘Awareness Campaign’ from April 11 to 17 to promote the teachings of social reformers like Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Dr. Ambedkar. Citizens have been urged to actively participate and spread the message of equality and social responsibility.
In a unique tribute, the Ekta Employees Union conducted a helicopter flower shower over Dr. Ambedkar’s statue at Bhimsrushti, creating a vibrant and emotional atmosphere, with large public participation.
