Adequate Blood Stock at YCM Hospital; No Patient Turned Away
Pimpri : The blood centre at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, operated by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, currently maintains sufficient stock of all major blood components, ensuring uninterrupted supply to patients across the city.
As per hospital authorities, the centre has a total of 450 units in stock, including 215 units of red blood cells, 213 units of plasma, 4 units of platelets, and 15 units of cryoprecipitate. On average 60 to 70 units are distributed daily to various hospitals and patients in need.
Dean Dr Rajendra Wable stated that the blood centre has adopted systematic stock management to meet rising demand and handle emergencies effectively. In the coming days, six to seven blood donation camps are planned, with an expected collection of around 600 units.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi emphasized that ensuring timely and adequate blood supply remains a top priority. He also appealed to citizens to donate blood regularly and contribute to this life-saving initiative.
Officials confirmed that no patient in the city has been denied blood due to shortage so far.
