160 Students Paint Cloth Bags to Promote Plastic-Free India

Eco-awareness competition held at Babu Raoji Gholap School in Sangvi

Pimpri-Chinchwad : A cloth bag painting competition was organised at Baburaoji Gholap Secondary and Higher Secondary School in Sangvi, run by the Pune District Education Association, in collaboration with the Being Volunteer organisation.

As many as 160 students from Classes V to IX participated in the activity, using their creativity to spread awareness about environmental protection, a plastic-free India and the message of ‘Clean India, Beautiful India’.

The cloth bags and painting materials required for the competition were provided free of cost by the organisation. The initiative aimed to encourage students to adopt eco-friendly practices and reduce the use of plastic bags.

The programme was supported by coordinator Neelam Nagul, manager Mansi Gokhale, media designer Shamal Koli, finance department head Manisha Sawant, Anjali Deshmukh, Indrani Shonge and Janhavi Dawande.

The activity was conducted under the guidance of principal Ajinath Ogle, vice-principal Megha Pote, supervisor Chandrashekhar Waghmare, teachers and volunteers.

The initiative combined art with environmental education, encouraging students to communicate the importance of cleanliness and sustainable living through their paintings.
