Heated Clash in PCMC Over Swimming Tank Tender in Pre-Standing Committee Meeting

  • Corporator and corporator’s husband argued over tender approval

Pimpri (Correspondent) : A heated argument broke out before the Standing Committee meeting of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Wednesday (March 25) during a pre-meeting held in the committee chairman’s office. The dispute was reportedly over a swimming tank tender, and the situation became tense for some time.

According to sources, the husband of a corporator strongly opposed awarding the tender for a proposed swimming tank project in one of the municipal wards. He alleged that the contractor in question had carried out faulty work in the past and claimed that a person had lost his life due to serious negligence in that project. He insisted that the same contractor should not be awarded any new work.

On the other hand, a senior corporator present in the meeting pushed for approval of the proposal, which led to a sharp exchange of words between the two. The argument escalated further when questions were raised about the presence of the corporator’s husband in the meeting. Soon, the verbal spat turned into a heated confrontation, with both sides making allegations against each other.

The situation became so tense that personal remarks were also exchanged during the argument. Eventually, the corporator’s husband stormed out of the meeting in anger, creating a tense atmosphere for some time. The incident created a political stir even before the official Standing Committee meeting began, and the matter became a topic of discussion in municipal circles.
