Students Take Charge of College for a Day at Pratibha College
– Unique ‘One Day as Students’ initiative held on Teachers’ Day
Pimpri : Marking Teachers’ Day, Pratibha College of Commerce and Computer Studies, run by Kamala Education Society in Chinchwad, organised a unique initiative titled ‘One Day as Students’, in which students took on the roles of the principal, vice-principal and faculty members for a day.
The initiative was organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President and educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The selected students were formally handed over their responsibilities by institute secretary Dr. Deepak Shah in the morning.
Muskan Sheikh took charge as the student principal, while Jessica Sharma served as the student vice-principal. More than 50 students took on the roles of faculty members across various departments. They conducted lectures, practical sessions and addressed students’ queries, while the student principal handled the college’s administrative, disciplinary and academic responsibilities.
Speaking on the occasion, student principal Muskan Sheikh said the experience helped her understand the immense responsibility shouldered by a principal and the effort teachers put into managing classrooms and guiding students.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Secretary Dr. Deepak Shah, Treasurer Dr. Bhupali Shah and Director Dr. Tejal Shah. Principal Dr. Kshitija Gandhi, Vice-Principal Dr. Jayshree Mule, Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Rajendra Kankaria, Staff Academy Coordinator Dr. Jayshree Kamble and Prof. Snehal Varhade felicitated the student faculty members.
Principal Dr. Kshitija Gandhi highlighted the importance of teachers, while Dr. Rajendra Kankaria shared his professional experiences and encouraged the students to consider teaching as a career. He stressed that confidence, honesty and respect for students are essential qualities of a good teacher.
The programme concluded with a street play and Ganesh Vandana presented by NSS students. Priyanka Gangawane welcomed the guests, student Saraswati Joshi compered the programme, while student vice-principal Jessica Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.
Department heads, teaching staff and students were present in large numbers.
