Manmad Gets Commercial Stop for Mumbai–Shirdi Vande Bharat
Railway approval opens faster travel options for North Maharashtra passengers
Pune : The Mumbai–Shirdi Vande Bharat Express will now have an authorised commercial stop at Manmad Junction, allowing passengers from the town and surrounding areas to board and alight from the train.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about the decision through an official letter.
Although the train previously stopped at Manmad for technical reasons, passengers were not permitted to board or alight because the station was not an authorised commercial halt. The latest approval removes this restriction.
The decision is expected to benefit residents of Manmad and neighbouring areas, including Malegaon, Nandgaon, Chandwad, Satana, Deola, Yeola and Chalisgaon, by providing an additional rail travel option for journeys to Mumbai and Shirdi.
The commercial stop is likely to improve connectivity for passengers in North Maharashtra, particularly those seeking access to the semi-high-speed train service.
The move follows a request for improved rail connectivity in the region, with the official approval now enabling Manmad passengers to use the Vande Bharat Express service.
