Shreya Ghoshal to Receive 21st ‘Asha Bhosle Award 2026’

PIMPRI : Renowned playback singer Shreya Ghoshal has been named the recipient of the prestigious 21st ‘Asha Bhosle Award 2026’ for her outstanding contribution to Indian music.

The award will be presented by Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar at a ceremony on Saturday, August 29, at 5 pm at Prof. Ramkrishna More Auditorium in Chinchwad, said Bhausaheb Bhoir, president of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, Pimpri-Chinchwad branch.

The award carries a cash prize of ₹1.11 lakh, along with a shawl, coconut and memento. The event is being jointly organised by the Marathi Natya Parishad’s Pimpri-Chinchwad branch, Kalarang Pratishthan and Siddhivinayak Group.

A special musical programme, ‘Asha Se Shreya Tak’, produced by Morya Theatre, will be presented during the ceremony, featuring popular songs of Asha Bhosle and Shreya Ghoshal.

The programme is free and open to all music lovers. Organisers have appealed to citizens to attend in large numbers.

Ghoshal, who began learning music at the age of four, made her Bollywood debut with Devdas in 2002. She has sung in more than 20 languages and has received several prestigious honours, including five National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards. The US state of Ohio has also declared June 26 as ‘Shreya Ghoshal Day’.
