Yoga Day Celebrated at PMRDA Fire Stations with Enthusiasm

Firefighters Participate in Yoga Sessions at Nanded City, Marunji and Wagholi Stations

Pune : On the occasion of International Yoga Day, firefighters at various fire stations under the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) participated in special yoga sessions with enthusiasm.

PMRDA Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode said that firefighters who are always ready to respond during emergencies must remain physically and mentally strong. Keeping this in mind, yoga sessions were organized at fire stations in Nanded City, Marunji, and Wagholi.

The sessions were conducted under the guidance of Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode and planned by Divisional Fire Officer Sujit Patil and Fire Station Officer Vijay Mahajan. Officers and firefighters from the respective stations participated in collective yoga practice.

Through the initiative, the message of “Practice Yoga – Stay Healthy, Stay Strong and Build a Strong Society” was conveyed to citizens.

Officials highlighted that firefighting is a highly challenging and stressful duty, requiring mental focus and physical fitness to handle emergencies effectively. Yoga was described as not just an exercise but a lifestyle that promotes health, balance, and positivity.
