Pimpri Hosts Thrilling Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament; Winners Felicitated

Pimpri : A grand tennis ball cricket tournament, organized by corporator Sandeep Waghere in memory of the late Ajit Pawar, concluded with prize distribution ceremony at Navmaharashtra Vidyalaya ground.

In the Pimpri Gaon Sanghatana group, ACC team secured the first position, followed by Swarajya Cricket Club and Furious Cricket Club. Om Surve was declared “Man of the Series,” while Manish Kataria and Kunal Godela were awarded Best Batsman and Best Bowler respectively.

In the 40+ category, Samvidhan Group emerged as winners, with Amol Mane named “Man of the Series.” Ganesh Jadhav and Chetan Sutar bagged the Best Batsman and Best Bowler awards.

The Open category saw Nilesh Dada Bhintade Sports Foundation clinch the spot, followed by Gavdevi Gavthan (Uran). Vishal was adjudged “Man of the Series,” while Nilesh and Shivam were recognized for their batting and bowling performances.

The event also stood out for encouraging veteran players, with the 40+ category highlighting continued passion for the sport and strengthening the local sports culture.

Several dignitaries, including Opposition Leader Bhausaheb Bhoir and other prominent figures, attended the program. The tournament was efficiently organized by a dedicated team, ensuring smooth execution.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Waghere emphasized the importance of such sporting events in promoting discipline, teamwork, and leadership among youth. He stated that similar initiatives would continue to encourage budding talent in the region.
