Grand Buddha Procession to Mark Buddha Jayanti in Rahatani–Pimple Saudagar
Pimpri : A grand Buddha Procession has been organised in the Rahatani–Pimple Saudagar area on the occasion of the 2569th birth anniversary of Tathagat Bhagwan Gautam Buddha. The event is expected to be held on a large scale with great enthusiasm.
Founder of Krantisurya Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Education Foundation, Arun Chabukswar, has appealed to Buddhist devotees from the area to participate in the programme wearing white attire.
The procession will begin at 6 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026 from Anand Buddha Vihar near Nakhate Nagar Arch, Rahatani Phata. It will proceed through Sarnath Buddha Vihar, Jeevanjyoti Hospital, Challenger Public School, and conclude at Mahabodhi Buddha Vihar in Jagtap Nagar, Pimple Saudagar.
Respected Bhante Dhammanand will deliver a Dhamma discourse and guidance during the programme. A community dinner (Sahbhojan) has also been organised at 9:00 pm.
The event has been jointly organised by several social and religious organisations including Sarnath Buddha Vihar (Rahatani Gaon), Mahabodhi Buddha Vihar (Pimple Saudagar), Anand Buddha Vihar (Shastrinagar, Rahatani), Phil Group (Pimple Saudagar), Veer Sambhaji Senior Citizens Association (Rahatani), Bharatiya Bauddhajan Vikas Samiti (PCMC City), Rahul Mitra Mandal (Rahatani), Takshashila Seva Sanstha (Pimple Saudagar), Yashodhara Mahila Mandal (Pimple Saudagar), Anand Mitra Mandal (Shastrinagar, Rahatani), and Bhimshakti Mitra Mandal (Pawananagar, Rahatani).
