PCMC Approves Rental of Suction Unit Vehicles to Strengthen Sanitation Services
Pimpri : The Standing Committee of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has approved the hiring of suction unit vehicles required for the Health Department, aiming to improve sanitation and public health services across the city.
The decision is expected to enhance sewage management and accelerate cleanliness operations, making the functioning of the Health Department more effective.
Tenders were invited by the Mechanical Department to provide four suction unit vehicles along with two workers per vehicle on a rental basis. Among the bids received, M/s Ingale Transport Service emerged as the lowest and most suitable bidder.
The contractor has quoted a rate of Rs. 4,624 per vehicle per day for 8 hours of service with unlimited kilometers, which has been deemed reasonable by the administration. Officials have also confirmed that the contractor is capable of completing the work within the stipulated time.
The proposal was approved by the Municipal Commissioner on March 25, 2026, and the contract will be executed within an estimated cost of Rs. 3.55 crore. The Standing Committee has granted final approval to proceed with the agreement, including payment of applicable GST, with the selected contractor.
