Public Bicycle Sharing Project Launched at Linear Garden in Pimple Saudagar
Pimpri : The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Pimpri Chinchwad Smart City Limited and startup Pre-Vai, inaugurated a public bicycle sharing project at Linear Garden in Pimple Saudagar.
The project was inaugurated by corporators Shatrughna Kate and Vitthal Kate. The event was attended by corporators Kunda Bhise and Anita Kate, Sandeep Kate along with officials including City Engineer Manoj Sethi, Deputy City Engineer Bapu Gaikwad, Executive Engineer Sunil Pawar, and PRO Prafull Puranik.
The initiative has been implemented under the guidance of Mayor Ravi Landge, Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar, and Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryavanshi. Founded by Nikhil Deshmukh and Pratyush Srinivasan, the project aims to provide an affordable, convenient and eco-friendly transport option for short-distance travel.
The system features smart and e-bicycles, dock-to-dock ride sharing, geo-fencing for safety, IoT-based operations, and a centralized command system. Officials said the initiative is designed as per international standards and represents a significant step towards sustainable and smart urban mobility in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
