Raksha Bandhan Celebrated with Army Personnel at Aundh Military Station

  • Unnati Social Foundation honours soldiers for their service and sacrifice

Pimpri : To express gratitude towards officers and soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who remain on duty round the clock for the security of the nation, the Unnati Social Foundation organised a special Raksha Bandhan programme at Aundh Military Station.

As part of the initiative, women members of the Unnati Sakhi Manch tied Rakhi on the wrists of army personnel and celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with them in a warm and emotional atmosphere.

The initiative has been organised for the fifth consecutive year. The objective is to make soldiers serving away from their families feel the affection, love and emotional bond of sisters from society.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kundatai Sanjay Bhise, President of Unnati Social Foundation, said, “Soldiers are also someone’s brothers, sons and family members. Tying Rakhi to them is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude and salute their sacrifice and dedicated service to the nation.”

The programme witnessed the presence of Subedar Naveen Kumar, retired Subedar Major Santosh Puran Wankhade, Subedar Mohammad Asad Iqbal, Subedar Major Vinod Chavan, Havaldar Mahesh Pratap Patra, Havaldar Rajkumar, social worker Prataprao Bhosale, along with women members of the Unnati Sakhi Manch.

The initiative highlighted the strong bond between the armed forces and society, with the Raksha Bandhan celebration becoming a heartfelt gesture of respect and gratitude towards those serving the nation.
