Demands funds for Annabhau Sathe Corporation, faster teacher recruitment and support for minorities and disabled
Pimpri : During the Maharashtra Budget Session, Legislative Council member Amit Gorkhe strongly raised several pending issues, including funding for the Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Development Corporation, delays in teacher recruitment and welfare measures for various communities.
Gorkhe demanded renewal of the corporation’s financial guarantee and allocation of Rs 100 crore for its functioning. He also criticized the slow process of teacher recruitment through the Pavitra Portal, stating that it has left thousands of D.Ed graduates unemployed and affected students’ education.
He further urged the government to release funds for the proposed Jain Minority Economic Development Corporation and highlighted the need for dedicated financial provisions for welfare schemes for persons with disabilities.
